The hype is cooling... but is the price still too high? 👀
For years, the Lenticular Deoxys wasn’t exactly the center of attention among Pokémon collectors.
That changed in April, when a PSA 10 (POP 40) sold for $90,000, and even breaking the six-figure mark via private sales, putting the card firmly in the spotlight and sending collectors scrambling to secure copies.
Perhaps the more frequently traded PSA 9 tells a clearer story about collector demand over time. The price action has been fascinating.
Just this year:
📈 March: $4,000
📈 May: $10,500 (+163%)
📈 June: $13,800 (+31%) — the market peak.
Since then, the hype has cooled.
Two copies sold just one week apart this month, ending at $9,000 and $7,800, with the latest sale finishing 43% below the June peak.
Even after the correction, the card is still trading 95% higher than it was in March, suggesting current demand still remains well above pre-boom levels.
